Week #1 Show Teaser 'Ganza

Comedy sketches, political satire, commercial parodies and Canadian music are at the heart of the new comedy series, 'Ganza. Filmed on location, each episode is shot in a different province or territory across Canada. The fans of 'Ganza have the opportunity to be involved in the show by choosing the indie band that will represent their province or territory by voting on-line.

Synopsis

It started as a low budget Peterborough thing.... It's time to take it to the next level! Comedy sketches, political satire, commercial parodies and Canadian music are at the heart of the new comedy series, 'Ganza. Filmed on location, each episode is shot in a different province or territory across Canada. The sketches will not only showcase the province but 'Ganza will also invite a guest actor from that province to join the ensemble cast for each episode. The fans of 'Ganza have the opportunity to be involved in the show by choosing the indie band that will represent their province or territory by voting on-line. 'Ganza - bringing the funny and indie tunes - one province at a time!

Rob Swales is an international award winning filmmaker, musician, comedy writer. His work has been seen on national TV as well as in film festivals in Canada, the US and Europe. He also plays keys and writes for Occams Blazer, a Canadian indie band.

Luke completed 2 years of the Comedy Performance and Writing program at Humber College in 2003. He still performs live and filmed improv, sketch shows and various theatrical productions. He is currently an on air personality with Star 93.3 and 107.9 The Breeze.

Talent, Writer

Daniel Smith is a sketch comedian/improviser who resides in scenic Peterborough, Ontario. He has performed at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival, the Toronto Sketchapalooza Comedy Festival and at local curling clubs. He wrote the screenplay for the feature length animated film "Peterborough Time" and won an award for the animated short "Lemming Meringue Die."

    I watched all three weeks. I found that the stories you were making fun of I wasn't familiar with or interested in. Nothing here to hold my attention.

    These kids are the real deal. Talking as someone who only eats mustard during the holiday season, I can see they have filming, writing and comedy chops. Keep it up 'ganza guys.

    Not terrible but not really amazing, I like the idea but doesn't seem doable without a pretty big budget.

    I really like the concept. I would watch this every Saturday night after SNL...Or watch it as I'm PVRing SNL. I liked the Chris Hadfield. #supportlocalmusic So many great bands out there. We used Attica Riots a independent Winnipeg for our track. Going to follow you ...- Shirts Comedy
