White Guys

Week #3 The Differentiator White Guys

Why make this show called White Guys? Because it's worked in the past!

The concept and potential are fantastic, but it is going to be a tough balance to keep this going as a successful muilti-year sitcom. Only the talent of a great bunch of film makers could get this show off the blocks, but I think these multi-ethnic "White Guys" might have what it takes! Could be a real industry eye-opener, and a great comic ride, but if think subtlety will end up being the key component. A lot of easy jokes immediately come to mind after watching this, but I hope the writers are skilled enough to avoid them.

First two videos made me literally laugh out loud. I admit, I was selfishly hoping for another laugh out loud moment in your week 3 video and it just didn't come. That said, I'm still excited to see where you guys can take this concept.

Sure this may not be as edgy as Jian's sex life but it makes some great satir and I think you are all funny mother#%@#ers! You got my vote.

I like your statement, with enough skills, you can make something great out of it; but for the next challenge, I would recommend you to SHOW us what you make of that statement instead of simply saying it.

It's safe to make fun of white guys and I would like to see lots of lampooning of this type. I think this is a really great concept. Provocative, critical and funny!

I would've liked to have seen more in your differentiator video. I didn't get anything more out of it than what I already got in your first two videos. I love your cast and would love to see more of what you can do.

Good stuff, just try not to go for the too obvious jokes: shows like Little Mosque on the Prairie became tired very quickly with humor that played off of very unimaginative stereotypes.

Still on the fence for this show. It sounds great, but it will all depends the characters (for example if they managed to avoid stereotype).

You answered this weeks mission question clearly, I just would have also liked to have seen more from your show. You only get so many opportunities to really show yourself and the competition is full of hard working individuals like you guys. I hope you make it to the next round so I can see more of your material. Good luck in the competition!

This sounds amazing! I truly hesitate to list off all the great comedic shows that don't meet your "all white criteria" because I think ultimately your message is a noble one, true and potentially hilarious one. Please check out The Saaajiid Network as at our hearts we have the same message. Let's make sure everyone is laughing together...I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit...but it tasted like hilarious love. Good luck and can't wait to see more!!!

whew! This could be SO good if you do it right!! if it was presented wrong.... i don teven want to think about that! you have good production value, but i really would have liked to see more of the cast in this video... i was wondering the entire time when i would see someone other than the white guys... which got be a bit afraid. I know i got to see them in then end shot, but i feel like it wasn't enough. even so, you guys look great! and good luck!

I wonder if I'm being overly sensitive here, but doesn't the whole notion of making the whiteness of the performers a central question just obscure the fact that they remain three white guys? If you tease yourself about your flaws, in what sense do your flaws cease to exist? I don't get it. This seems more like white congratulations for understanding privilege than a good concept for a funny show.

I like how this is a show that's self aware of white privilege, but i've personally seen your hilarious improvisation skills and would have loved to see a completely improvised show, where the story beats/structure is solid, but dialogue, costume and other parts are improvised like the movie "drinking buddies."

with your skill set, it would really separate you guys from the pack.
