I have no constructive criticism. I love everything about this, I love the premise, the jokes, the people, holy f*ck nuggets this needs to be a thing. Omg the shotgun joke, the Plants vs Zombies zombie on the hockey table (I love me my gambling), everything is, just, like, wow.
Please promote more, oh gawd, how is this not rated 10/10 all the time?
Please give us a look over, too! I'm part of The Troupe, out of SK.
Sorry, I'm still laughing. I seriously am in love with this project. All the thumbs up and high fives and hockey butt slaps.
PS: I super choked at the Harper Denies Zombie Apocalypse thing. Dude denies everything, I almost died. <3

oh hey this is all right. very patriotic with the hockey stuff. not really liking the fact that you guys just go all out to compare yourselves to other shows and get dudes in it, i dont care about those shows, i dont care about a mash-up, i want to see original content. keep it comin though

This show has great comedy potential; I really like the new spin you are putting on established TV tropes and am looking forward to what more you can come up with!

Everything about this SCREAMs Canadian TV. My hope is that it goes the way of Zombieland, and not shitty Canadian TV. That would be sad. GOod luck!

Do we really need another Zombie show? Let along a Canadian one? This had too much talking about what you want to do and not showing enough of you actually doing it.

Fair enough, but one can argue that we don't really need a lot of shows because their concepts have been done before or are currently being done now. If a genre has a great fan base, then why can't fans provide stories to that genre? I would have loved to show more in our video, but to get our point across while achieving our week's mission in 90 seconds was a bit of a challenge. I believe that in the time allotted to us we did the best we could (and got to play with an table top ice hockey game).

This is a great blend of comedy and horror. The mockumentary style is also a great way to tell the story. I can definitely see my kids watching this show but I wonder if it would appeal to the older CBC crowd.

Fun for the whole family I say! I think the overall humour will be accessible to everyone, but I think the older crowd will have chuckle when some of the jokes reference Zit Remedy and the Bird-Lady.

Not super sold on the Canadian celeb cameo aspect. Doesn't seem significant enough of a thing to make such a big deal about. Loved the tabletop hockey game device though.

I really enjoyed the quality of the video in terms of the table hockey analogy, well played! You guys seem to really be leaning on the cameo concept to keep interest going, which could be a problem?

    Mark M. 0  posted 10 years ago

Thanks for the comment (and pun). I see your point about it possibly being a problem, but we're leaning on our story to keep interest going - (characters, funny zombies, an apocalyptic Canadian pop culture background, etc.) We hope any Canadian cameo/celebrity we get is a result of them being drawn into the world we created (as well as having an awesome sense of humour).

I thought it was really clever how you went about answering this weeks mission. I also like how you keep it very Canadian and leave it open for others to join in on the action. It must be hard to write a zombie comedy, especially since they are generally portrayed as something scary than something funny. Good luck with you project and getting through to the next round of the competition!

My take is WSTR will be 'a comedy with Zombies' rather than a black comedy. Personally, I look at the TreeHouse of Horror Halloween episodes of 'The Simpsons' for inspiration in making funny spoofs of scary topics.

    Mark's Photo
    Mark M. 2  posted 10 years ago

Thanks Christina for the great comment! Now a days, it does seem like zombies are generally a scary thing - our hope is to poke fun at the genre's troupes (out of love), while drawing inspiration from funnier zombies, like the ones found in "Return of the Living Dead" etc.

Like it. The cross-country zombies is a good idea. A bit contrived though, it is a bit inside-jokey for people whom love all the CBC programming, I don't watch all those shows like Corner Gas and Rick Mercer... something like I don,t know, maybe if they just fight Canadian cultural figures? Laura Secord? But the cross-country zombie thingy has me interested, good luck guys!
