Synopsis

East-Indian-Canadian, Saaajiid (40) abandons his non-rewarding job (brain surgery) to commit himself to his generationally and culturally flawed passion: all things tabloid, gossip and celebrity.

At the end of the pilot he gains network support but only because (unbeknownst to Saaajiid) the network is collecting footage for their cruel reality show: “Canada’s Worst Host Ever”.

In scripted doc-style, a brave, aloof character endures social-rejection from a culture he loves. The clash-of-context aesthetic (ie "Ali G”) reveals a loveable and relatable underdog story. His commitment to hard-work and Saaajiid's true-nature (ie. “Derek”) will test and satirize a notoriously heartless industry.

Just a bit weak for my taste. But good luck as I like the concept. Congrats on making the top fifty five list

I really like some of the moments in Saaajiid's videos. There's a lot here in what he says and doesn't say that comes through in his expressions. Also great to see some diversity on screen. Good luck! Great project.

Reminiscent of Raj Binder (Shawn Majumber). Could be interesting if they can carry it to the next level

Good camera work. Great cuts = better comedic timing. And that lead ... there's just something about him. 'My sweaters are quite long.' His non sequiturs just make me chuckle for some reason. Good job!

I love this character. Crazy how just one person can pull the viewer in and make them laugh/feel sorry for them at the same time. I can definitely see the potential in this, and how it could easily go on for multiple seasons. There's really something special about Saaajiid, and I hope he makes it to the top 50 so we get to meet more of him!

He reminds me of Peter Sellers in the Party. I would watch this show. In fact, I would vote for him if he decided to run for Mayor of Toronto.

I love this show already because it it exactly like my show that I never did get to make. I am jealous and I and not fond of you all. Sorry, I am just a little emotional right now. I LOVE YOU! Serious, I do love you.

The dancing was pretty excellent. I zoned out a bit in the middle (happens easy to me) with the list of celebrities. I'd want to know a bit more about this character--right now he seems like a pretty tired cliche--what else is interesting about him? Also, do you know Busta Rhymes, or how did you get the rights to Pass the Courvoisier? The n-word was a little jarring/unnecessary. I guess it's supposed to contrast with him being a nerdy fool? Anyway, not super into it right now, want to see more sides of this character.
