Week #1 Show Teaser Teaching Hamlet

Brett Watson, playing the Shakespearean actor Conner Hamilton, clashes with Keir Cutler, playing the eccentric intellectual Joe, in "Teaching Hamlet." In each episode this oddest of couples have a battle of wits as they make a different conspiracy video. A great idea for a comedy series! Directed by Paul Hopkins.

Synopsis

"Teaching Hamlet" is a hit play which toured Canada to great acclaim. Al Rae of the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, reviewed the show for CBC/Manitoba, “It's intelligent, witty and well-acted. It's just great, really, and full of big laughs. FIVE STARS!”

"Teaching Hamlet" is a natural to be made into a TV series because of it’s odd couple pairing and absurd subject matter. The obsessive nature of the characters make for original, fresh and intelligent comedy. Pat Donnelly of the Montreal Gazette, "Teachng Hamlet is an intelligent, hilarious word wrangle as the worlds of theatre and academia are cleverly juxtaposed."

I saw "Teaching Hamlet" at the Winnipeg Fringe Festival. It was one of the best of the over 60 shows that I saw that year at the festival. It is also one of the best shows that Keir Cutler has written and produced. He and Brett Watson have a superb chemistry that sparkles on the live stage. It's time for "Teaching Hamlet" to reach a wider audience.
