Hello Nan, the message below is from your friend Margo out the bay (she asked me to write it cuz she's "no good wit da computers and internets"). Good luck next weekend and here's her message:

How ya gettin' on Agnes my dear,
It's been ages! I dies at you each week when Ricky shows me what you do be at in town there. You got more nerve than I that's for sure! I watches the CBC news every day and there's always someone in there in an accident or loosing a cat or something. Be careful will ya for the love of god!? I just heard of the fella in there trying to get old women into his van to do god only knows what with! Shocking! Sure, maybe I will come in for a visit after all...

Your friend,
Margo Martin

Nanny Walbourne is almost believable, and definitely likeable! She is a unique old gal, what with her special effects crystal ball, and her social ways. I wonder if she is based on a special person somewhere. Well, may good fortune be in your cards, Nanny and crew!

fun that your pics are all tarot cards. fun that taht's the event you're plugging. I do have a fondness for nanny - who wouldn't with that music and the little ticks. but a journalist doesn't have much here to go on and I'm not sure tarot would be this granny's thing - out of character? anyway this concept should be on the stage before tv

Sadly, I can never take a show seriously (and, yes, that's just as important for a comedy) when it's one gender playing the opposite gender purely for laughs. It just feels like sketch, and Canada has way too much sketch already. It just feels like an easy out to make a sketch-style comedy, and I think people are looking for a concept and characters they can really get behind.

I disagree , watching Nan will be funny as chasing pigs in the pen. This show could slip around all sorts of gags. In the home , tarro reading, superstious walk abouts. and all of Nan's dress combos.
Does she ever meet a boyfriend? This is a comedy waiting to happen. Good luck!

My hopefully constructive comments: this video was actually really good when it came to promoting your fan event, which is great. I think anyone who lives in Newfoundland and is interested in this show now has no excuse not to show up. That said, it didn't do too much in terms of pitching to the media as to why your show should get coverage. Maybe they'll be interested in the live event? Either way, good luck going forward!

Bruce N wrote exactly what I was thinking. It looks like a show, that has a Newfie, MRS. Doubtfire wannabe. It might be good, for a couple episodes. But that would probably be it. The male, nanny's been done. The male, nanny, pretending to be female, has been done. I apologize for being such a critic. But like The Bare Naked Ladies say. It's all been done, before.

Certainly an original idea for the live event; wish I could come out to get my cards read. I'd love to know more about Nanny's family and friends and how much of a role they will play on the show; her interactions with people she knows will drive your story as much as the playfulness she displays with strangers, I would think.

I think the character is great and has a lot of funny potential. I just don't know what the show is going to be yet. Is it a camera following her around a la Marg Delahunty? Is there any plot or other characters (other than her daughter)? Doesn't feel enough for a series.

Some lines are funny but think the concept would fade quickly.

I think Nanny W. has lots of potential. In my view, she could stand to be a bit more outrageous, like in unexpected ways. That would liven her up some for the viewing audience. And in one or two places, her monologue might be delivered a wee bit more naturally, i.e. occasionally sounds like reading off a script, instead of 'flowing'. Nanny W is a delight, and her regional voice is charming! Best of luck.

Still not too clear on the concept of the show but looks fun.
