I think A is the type of humour that was really common throughout the top 100. I think it can be effective but if you entire show depends on potty humour it falls flat. I have really enjoyed how all your videos so far are more situational humour than punchlines and shock value. I think that shows greater maturity as story tellers and allows your viewers to relate and become attached to your characters.

agreed about the caption "playing 112 years of history, one awkward moment at a time". if there was a way to get that onto the image on the right, it would be grand.

Good gawd... ya nailed it kids. Having been one of those 'visitors' to a number of similar venues over the years, I have to fully appreciate the insider humour that the actors (re-creators) need to maintain. Without it, you have to really question your dedication to the project as you're out strolling in the wind and rain, 25 miles from 'anywhere' on the beaten track, avoiding crumbling structures and potholed walkways; while keeping the 3 paying customers entertained.
PS... did I mention the costumes that are really 'ripe' after 125 years and just as many re-creators.

Poster definitely a bigger eye-grabber. Clean lines, great color, seems more professional, more finished. Congrats on whoever designed this piece.
However -- I cast my vote for B since it seems to highlight more of the concept of the show a i understand it so far. Just get your designer from A to add his or her professional touch to B and you've combined the best of both!!

  • mike's Photo

I like the photo in B, but the design and layout of A makes more visual impact. The heavier Cheltenham typeface carries more weight, and doesn't require drop-shadow to give it pop. Is that too analytical? Sorry, I can't help myself. Mark Heppner taught me everything I know.

Going to pick poster B here. I like how poster B has the cast more up front and I think it's clever how you slanted the title as if it is falling. Also, I've never been super keen on poop jokes and the pig in the corner is a nice touch. Furthermore, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to reply to my previous post, I think it's great when a team shows interest in their fans.

I'm just getting caught up with Comedy Coup and haven't yet seen your teaser video or previous challenges. As someone looking at these with no previous knowledge of the show, I voted for B as it made it clearer what the show was about and did make me want to watch. The text establishes the conflict between the "dreamer" and his cast, while the image explains what Littleton Falls is with a glance. Well done!

I do like A as well, but I think it would work better later in the run of the series as a reminder, when a lot of people would have heard the set-up for the show even if they hadn't seen it yet.

I love what I think L.Falls is about: earnest actors who are looking for significance in less than glamorous circumstances. Don't get me wrong, I love whoopee cushions and potty humour, but putting the cow so central and making me think the word sh*t doesn't hit me right. I prefer the people central poster. "SH*T happens" has become such a cynical, lack of action kind of toughness phrase for me, that I usually associate it with a right off. So for me, it is a sentiment that seems contrary to lowly actors making hay out of weeds in hopes of a glimpse of goodness in Littleton.

The poop poster is funnier for 5 seconds but then says nothing more. No potential, nothing to anticipate. The "Screw up Actors" poster leads you to imagine a season of train wreck hilarity. I vote for it over the poop cow for sure!
