Synopsis

From 40 below blizzard conditions in the winter, to a muggy plus-thirty with mosquitoes the size of dimes in summer; the north is truly a place where only the wildest survive. The meek are quickly shipped back south while the ones who flourish in the remoteness are awarded with stories for a lifetime.

Gathered around a laptop, midi-keyboard and endless supplies of munchies, the guys from Inuvik Comedy hatch a plan. To Present their lives and wildest ideas, through sketches and on-the-spot character interaction with real people in the north.

Armed with endless first-hand experiences and an unforgiving backdrop, these guys aren't playing around. Edgy, controversial and gut-bustingly real.

Dez Loreen's Profile Image

Dez Loreen

Talent, Writer

I'm Inuvialuit, 31 years old. Father and husband. Been making short features and skits since high school, always wanted to work on a story about northerners living the real life here.
Did my time as a news reporter, spanning radio, print and television news. I enjoy writing and entertaining my friends. Founded Neverlow Studios in 2010 as a way to show off. It's been fun!

Brendan Callahan's Profile Image

Brendan Callahan

Talent, Writer

The story of Brendan is a humble one, but not one that should be taken lightly. He is a 23 year old Gwichin beneficiary living in Inuvik, Northwest Territories. He has always loved to make people laugh so this is an attempt to reach a larger audience. Plus he plays the guitar like a moderately talented guitar enthusiast.

This group has plenty of chemistry and a shared natural wit that's refreshingly unhammy. I'd like to see them use this advantage to craft some strong jokes and characters.

Just finished watching your first 3 weeks. Week three was the best of them. The B&E with the game to keep them there gave me a chuckle. Everything is pretty slow paced and doesn't keep me watching. You tried though!

This comedy really works with me and I feel like it's a new spin on comedy. People will find it very interesting because it is from a place people know little of but enough to understand the humor. Congrats on the laughs guys!

Love love love the idea of getting to see and know some of the vast north...the pace of the sketches is a little too brisk and some scoring would have helped the flow. Keep writing, wishing you luck :)

One of the fellas in this group was a good friend of mine when I lived in the arctic circle.

I always enjoyed listening to the stories and jokes, and anything else he'd come up with. These skits are just a natural progression for his personality.
