Well my eyes will never be the same after that video, but I digress..

Great on stage presence guys, well done pitch. Sorry I never got to meet you in my all-too-brief time at Whistler but perhaps I'll see you around Vancouver one of these days. Congrats on the win!

Dark comedy is sometimes a way of saying "not funny" comedy.

YAY! Congrats HUMAN TOWN! I'm super excited to see your dark comedy on CBC. I'm a big fan of Kids in the Hall and your group is very reminiscent of their cutting-edge comedy. However, you also bring something totally new to the table and I think it's brilliant. All of you. Can't wait to see what you do next!

Congratulations HumanTown, and also to CBC and Comedycoup for putting on this excellent competition that brought hard work and talent to the surface. It was a fresh take on the voting model - and I am so happy that in the final rounds the jury was able to make qualified decisions that ultimately recognized and rewarded a team who consistently showed original and quality content. Can't wait to see what they come up with next!

I think it would be better to let the fans choose, by voting right up to and including The Big Winner. Instead of criticizing Comedy Coup choice, I won't be watching Human Town. It is not my kind of humour, saw nothing funny at all. Very unfortunate, many lost opportunities.

This last video was as great as my other favourites, Slesh Reshman, Melcorp, and the Roast/Toast! Plus honourable mention to Message from the Future and Save Liam. You have always been the winners in my books! I'll be watching.

The images in this comedy pitch video of a gun and a woman bound, gagged, beaten and bleeding scores a $500,000 win on December 6 - in Canada, where men and women across the nation today mourn the massacre of fourteen women at Montreal's Ecole Polytechnic twenty-five years ago?!!! Not in my country! Shame on CBC if they have anything to do with this project. An apology is due to our nation.

I can take a joke, but in light of recent events, I have started to consider what an overall shift in consciousness might entail.

This day probably holds a lot of personal meaning for you, Liz, but I think Raeann S. is one hundred percent correct. Merely depicting things on screen does not condone or glorify them: in this instance, the creators are not poking fun at victims of abuse, but at the salesman's friendly demeanor being contradicted by his surprisingly twisted personal life (the exploits of which are clearly condemned by the customer). I'm also guessing that the CBC rewarded this project for the hard work and talent of the creators, who have shown over the course of this contest a great penchant for variety and originality - not because they love domestic abuse. What's annoyed me about Canadian programming of late is that they've been far too afraid to offend anyone, which is why I barely watch any of it. Making bold and daring choices leads the way towards extraordinary things instead of landing in the politically correct middle, which there's already plenty of. Lastly, I can think of around a hundred other things that you could and should request a nation-wide apology for.

I am also dumbfounded! This last video... I can't believe it! This is Canada! I hope this does not reflect what our whole nation stands for!!! I cannot believe CBC Comedy Coup...unless of course they have their say into what goes on TV, what is shown... I am speechless by what I saw here.

Oh puleeeeease! The video is not laughing at abused women or Klu Klux Clansmen or suicide either, for that matter. Although that penis was pretty funny! Humour is created by the juxtaposition of the Camera Salesman's milk toast exterior and his criminally deviant inner life. The customer registers increasing shock and revulsion at the pictures and the customer represents the reaction of normal Canadians. As an old hippy type feminist myself I laughed and gagged at the " drink it in" line. Eeewwww!
