Week #1 Show Teaser homegrown

Not every great story has a great beginning... but it has to start somewhere! After a night of debauchery and poor decisions 5- I mean 6- friends set out on a quiet journey back to their sleepy hometown when uh-oh the poutine hits the fan. They will have to be creative, resourceful or just plain lucky in order to reach home. facebook.com/homegrowncanada twitter.com/homegrownshow Music - XeroV

Synopsis

Karl Jones is a fresh film school graduate with one goal; to capture the quintessential Canadian experience on camera. The problem is he is broke and has no definite answer as to what it means to be Canadian. His roommate has gotten him a job with his oddball magazine that affords him the chance to report around the country.

HomeGrown epitomizes Karl's story even as it relays it. We want to showcase the Canadian experience by relating our joint experiences and culture. From crazy nights to silly fights, we want to crowd-source Canada's funniest moments through social media creating a truly unique television event showcasing Canadian cities, designers, musicians, and more like never before.

I definitely didn't get a "Home Videos" vibe... if I understand correctly, it's about using audience input for ideas to include in the sitcom's content... right?

I love the idea, it's like having your audience participate in a sitcom via social networks. It gets everyone involved in the laughter!
