I was at a charity event with my whole family (parents, husband, daughter....) and we had the chance to see you on stage. If your show is anything like the comedy we saw on stage....we are all in! For you to make all the generations in my family laugh from a pre-teen to my parents who are in their 70s, you've got what it takes to have a sitcom for the CBC. We've loved watching the clips you produce throughout the weeks. So many excellent topics (mulitculture, life on a farm, family) tied in to one show. Even my 70 year old mother, who is paranoid about giving any website her personal info for fear identity theft will happen, has signed on to vote for this show. Now that's saying A LOT!

You gave us lots of information on your hype. I like how you promote your town, but to see if the rest of Canada will be interested in your project you need to show us more clips of how you will use your multicultural humour. All the best in making top 15

Everything that comes out of this guys' mouth is funny - without being offensive. I was at his charity event last night and laughed my ass off. Obviously referencing true stories (friends, relatives, neighbours in the crowd nodding their heads throughout the monologue) with bang on vocal impersonations - basics for the perfect sitcom - and I don't currently watch any sitcoms - but I want to watch this one.

Sorry, the premise of the show is good and rather sweet but I'm hopeing for something edgier to come out of Comedy Coup. The hype video in particular didn't do it for me - it's great at explaining what the show is and where it comes from, but it's very earnest. I would have rather had more of a sample of the show put forward in it. Good luck though!

Joe, excellent use of the 90 seconds video, great and warm voice, convincing and loved all the captions and quotes! I also live in Niagara On The Lake and can totally confirm - all the words in the video, verbal and written - are based on real facts and so true! This is how I first heard of Joe Pillitteri, at a community organized Terry Fox run - the speakers aknowledged you, everybody knew you and, man, you're such a fast runner :) (couldn't keep up with you, not even for the first 5 km :D )
Nice touch with introducing our Lord Mayor's pretty town and loved the transition, in mid speach, to a short clip of your first week video - totally took me by surprise, had to rewind and ... resee (new word, I claim it)! Great material, Joe! Great work, team and...maybe you can squeeze in a few minutes of your time, one of you, maybe Vickie (producer), or Joel (director)...ooor, even better, Joe (we all know who Joe is - he's the son! Of a great dad, speaking of which...) to introduce his father, Vince, to a sitcom and explain him what the #ell the thing is, so he has a chance to vote for his son, I'm sure he'd like to!
FB event link - Have a great party Friday evening!
See you in TOP 15 - your Fruit Farm project got me entirely - I think it's an extraordinary opportunity to meet, share and laugh with real life facts at a fruit farm in Niagara On The Lake!
    Go Go Go TFF!

I like your low key, laid back, genuine kind of hype. Just "telling it like it is" is pretty funny. This may not appeal to the big city folks, but you've got good content to work with.

I can tell this man's point of view is educated and honest. I can see CBC getting behind this kind of Canadian story. Good luck!

True, genuine, good to watch, great idea, love the family togetherness and 'extended' family. Isn't this what we are all about. Keep up the good work guys, looking forward to your next ones.

I haven't watched your stuff since first week. I didn't really connect with it, but I like how in this video you explained things more. I am still not feeling/seeing the comedy factor though. There are a lot of funny competitors and none of your videos have made me laugh yet. I don't know if your jokes/content are more geared towards people living in your area or not and maybe I can't relate? Not sure, but I hope to see some more funny elements from your videos in the next weeks!

    Good luck!

Julia - thanks so much for taking the time to comment! We are looking forward to finalizing our submission for this week and the weeks to follow as we feel we haven't done a good enough job of showcasing the other characters of the show. Stay tuned and hopefully we'll have one that will make you chuckle, I promise :-)

This was a great hype video. This week 5 badge challenge has forced me to check out projects I had previously overlooked and your video gave a nice overview of your concept, showcased your personality and made me excited to find out more about the show.

Great video. I thought you explained your concept really well and was very informative for those in the media. I found this video did a much better job in informing the audience what your show is all about compared to the first weeks video. Good work with the article in the Nigara Advance and have an awesome time at your event!

Hi Christina, nice comments - wherever I find'em (...well, everywhere :) ) I take time to read your fine tuned comments and learn - you're an amazing observer and both positive and constructive feedback everytime, on a kind but proffesional note. I don't know how you do that, but I'm sure you have a great background, very well educated and strongly built! I bow to your talent and if there's a vote for #1 uberfan, you get all my votes and wishing I had even more :) I don't understand that fan leaderboard and why on earth top 5 doesn't include you - quality should count more than quantity!
Good luck in all that you're doing, although luck has nothing to do with it - however, Good Luck! (good luck is always good!)

Thank yo so much Christina for your continued feedback. We felt we hadn't done a good enough job explaining what the show is going to be vs. what the clips showed based on our starting concept. We are really proud of the script we submitted and hope to get a chance to advance to the top 15 to make a pilot a reality. PS - your avatar pic is awesome :-)

I haven't checked in on Fruit Farm since Week One; have to admit the language turned me off, but I like this pitch. The sell sheet does a good job of pointing viewers in the direction the show would take. Nice charity work! Sad side note... Goderich is "The prettiest little town in Canada." Says so on the sign.

Liz P - first let me apologize for the language in week 1 - we wrestled with what to do with that and ultimately we went ahead with the language - a censor beep might have been funnier for a broader audience. Thanks for your kind words on the charity work. As for Goderich - this flies in the face of Niagara-on-the-Lake being named the Prettiest Town in Canada in 1996 by Communities in Bloom, a nationwide beautification programme - I don't know what to believe anymore :-) Having said that, Goderich is straight up lovely.

I like you guys, your video was very informative and lots of info, but some other teams have really stepped up their game, i didn't see that this week with your entry, missing the funny factor maybe. Good luck with your event Friday night, wish i could attend.

We were torn between going for laughs and trying to get across the appeal of our pitch this week which may have been a strike against with some voters. Thanks so much for your kind words about Friday - we're looking forward to it and have a packed house lined up :-)

My criticism would be that through your previous videos we've really just seen talking to camera and black and white flashbacks, and I wasn't sure what the actual show is - sitcom? Standup-style monologues with dramatized flashbacks? I think your sell sheet clears all that up though - thanks for that. Good luck going forward.

Thanks so much Max - what I like about this competition is that you are given more than one avenue to explain where you're trying to go with your entry. Forgive me for being curious, but what is on your head in your picture?

Coming from a family farm, I really feel drawn to this concept. This video seemed like the 'self-promotion' outshawdowed the show promotion. From 0:53-1:15 in the video could have been condensed slightly to allow more clips of the show. Having said that, I really like this concept and can't wait to see more!

Coby, thanks so much for your feedback. We were torn between what the "sell" was to the media and ended up agreeing on Joe's role in a small rural town tied to what the project is going to be.
